The Nova Scotia Fifth Lottery Through the Labor Market Route 2019 was held on October 28 when 430 Canadian immigrant applicants were selected for nursing jobs.
Nova Scotia’s labor market migration path allows Nova Scotia to select the workforce it needs from among its registered entrants. The Express Entry System is a system for migrating to Canada in three categories
- Federal skilled worker
- Skilled jobs
- Canadian Experience
It attracts immigrants from around the world on the basis of privileges and criteria. Candidates are categorized based on the points they earn in the comprehensive rating system. Scoring in this system is based on English or French language proficiency, age, education and work experience. Candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply for permanent residence.
Nova Scotia invites eligible applicants to apply for permanent residency.
Applicants selected by the province will receive an additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Rating System, or CRS, and will be invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada in the next round.
Applicants invited to the October 28 reception were all eligible to meet these criteria, including:
- Their main job was a regular nurse or psychiatric nurse (NOC 3012)
- Have at least three years of experience working in a nursing or psychiatry job
- Their English or French score was CLB 8 in all four language skills
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or a degree at a university, college or vocational college
- Express Entry profiles are due on November 1st, 2018
Invited applicants have 30 days to complete their application after receiving the invitation through the Nova Scotia Provincial Immigration Program.
